For the software package research and evaluation task (so-called “Software Selection”), we have developed our distinctive approach that allows the alignment between the Model defined by the Client with the vendor proposals. The approach is based upon a very deep knowledge of the application software market of the main stakeholders and of the various business segments. ("Process & Technology")

It mainly consists in:

  • Verifying the coherence of the different software packages available on the market with the Client requirements identified:
    • Alignment with the defined reference model;
    • Flexible and simple to use;
    • Coherent and easy to integrate with existing systems;
    • Implementation costs and timetable;
  • Negotiating the contract with the vendor.

We can refer to the framework:

Software selection eng

PHASE 1

The goal of PHASE 1 is the detailed identification of the Functional Reference Model and high level Technical Requirements to evaluate the software package and the related vendor and select the short list on which the next stages (fine tune and negotiation) will be focused on.

PHASE 2

The goal of PHASE 2 is to finalize all the elements required for the right implementation (e.g. project scope, functional requirements, implementation plan etc) and negotiate the best agreement with the software vendor on technical and economic contents.

Our knowledge of each vendor services and related price list and our experience on these economics aspects allow us to heavily support the Client in the contract negotiation stage.

We previously agree with the Client the roles to be played during the negotiation steps; we can investigate towards the vendors, we can act for the Client on technical and delivery aspects and we can support the contract finalization and closing.
